Did you know that 1 in 2 Canadians will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime?
Morice, Director of Sales and Marketing at Prinex Media, recently put his passion for cycling to good use to raise money for the Hibiscus Fund for Hope. This patient-centred fund within the Department of Supportive Care at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre helps fund out-of-pocket costs associated with cancer treatment. The aim is to help ease a patient’s financial burden during an understandably stressful and overwhelming time in their lives.
A few years back, Morice decided to ride his bike from Toronto to Montreal to challenge both his physical and mental stamina. He completed the 600 km trip over six days of biking. After this successful experiment, this year he decided to expand the ride and support a cause near and dear to his heart. Starting in Quebec City, Morice biked over 800 km, ending at his destination in Perce, Quebec. Typically riding about 100 km per day, rain or shine, Morice planned his route each evening to correspond with the nearest city to his daily goal.
Prinex Media was proud to support Morice and contribute $2,000 to his fundraiser, which raised a total of $11,000. The Princess Margaret Cancer Centre goes above and beyond in caring for every patient, with a dedication to finding creative solutions when it matters most. It was an honour to be a part of that in a small way.
Congratulations to Morice on another successful ride. To learn more about the Hibiscus Fund for Hope, visit https://cancer.ca/en/research/cancer-statistics/cancer-statistics-at-a-glance.
